To download free pixel fonts, you can take a look at our collection of pixel fonts. If you are looking for professional pixel fonts with good kerning, alternates, broad character support, have a look at pixel fonts at MyFonts.com. If you don’t want the hassle of downloading and installing fonts, but just want to use pixel fonts fonts online, you should check our text generator tool below. There are quite a few bitmap font generators around, but I couldn’t find one that provided all the features I wanted. So I wrote my own. Codehead’s Bitmap Font Generator (CBFG) is now at version 1.45 and supports the following features: DIB rendering of font gives best font output, regardless of users screen settings. The Free Online Image Editor lets you edit images ONLINE! Resize or Crop all (animated gif) images. Merge, Blend and Overlay Images with the editor. Add Text with your own fonts to an (animated) image. Add Borders, round corners and shadow to your photo. Put an image in a Photo Frame or add a Mask. Overlay images with predefined animations!

You can use your own custom font in your Unity games like this:
First of all we need to export a .xml file and a .png file.
You will also need this piece of code to generate a font compatible with Unity. I modified and found this C# script in the Unity forum.
Download and add this C# script in your Unity Assets folder: GitHub zip

It exists several applications to export a bitmap font with a .xml file but in this tutorial we will use ShoeBox and GlyphDesigner:
- ShoeBox: Free, Adobe Air required
- GlyphDesigner: Shareware, Mac, Windows
- Littera: Free, Online
- bmGlyph: Shareware, Mac
- etc.
Export a bitmap font with ShoeBox
ShoeBox is a free Adobe Air based app for Windows and Mac OSX with game and ui related tools. Each tool uses a drag and drop or clipboard interaction for a quick workflow. Hiren boot cd usb latest version free download windows 10.
How to generate the required files to import your custom font with ShoeBox?
- Download and Install ShoeBox: http://renderhjs.net/shoebox/
- You can use my custom font in this .psd file: MyCustomFont.psd
- Watch this video bellow but export with the template: FNT-xml Starling. Yes! Starling! :). The BitmapImporterScript.cs script needs a .XML file format.
The video tutorial:
- Import the .xml and the .png files in your Unity Assets folder.
Follow the next step of the tutorial in the next chapter after this one.
Export a bitmap font with GlyphDesigner

Follow the next step of the tutorial in the next chapter.
Import and use the bitmap font in Unity
- Import the BitmapFontImporter.cs file in your Unity Assets folder.
- Then do a Right Click on the .xml file
- Click Generate Bitmap Font
- The Script should generate a .material and a .fontsettings file
- Now we use the font you just created in your scene
- Create an UI > Text game object in your scene
- Select the UI Text game object
- In the inspector go to the Text(Script) component and add the .fontsettings file in the Character >Font field

This is a free browser-based utility that converts an opaque bitmap to a transparent bitmap. You can specify which color will be made transparent in the options. You can use the color picker tool, enter a color name, or an HTML hex color value. You can also use fuzzy color matching mode to select similar color tones, and to make sure the right color gets converted to transparent color, see the changes in the preview mode. Created by graphics designers from team Browserling.

Transparent bmp maker toolWhat is a transparent bmp maker?
This online program creates transparent areas in a bitmap image (an image with .bmp extension). In the options, you can specify the color you want to replace with transparency and you'll instantly see the preview of the BMP with transparent pixels in the regions that match this color. The transparent color can be entered using its name (for example 'yellow' or 'pink'), a hexadecimal code (for example, '#ffe100' or '#0b03ff'), an RGB code (for example, 'RGB(230, 126, 34)' or 'RGB(142, 68, 173)'), or selected in the color palette that can be accessed by clicking on it next to the transparency color option. If you need to match similar shades of the given color, use the fuzzy color match option. In this option, you can enter the similarity coefficient, expressed in percentage. The higher the fuzzy percentage, the more similar color shades will become transparent. For example, with the yellow color and the fuzzy percentage set to 0%, only the yellow color will become transparent but with the fuzzy value of 30%, besides yellow, colors like corn, lime, amber, citrine, and cream all will become transparent. The most common use cases of this tool are removing the background of bitmap sprites and creating digital signatures and stamps. For more accurate results, you can enable the preview mode. In this mode, the transparent and non-transparent colors will be shown in black and white.
In this example, we load an 8-bit bitmap that contains a Mega Man sprite and strip its reddish background color. To do it, we enter the hex color '#E02040' in the transparent color field. As this is the only solid color we need to delete, we leave the fuzzy matching value at 0%.

In this example, we remove the background from a BMP image of a hot air balloon. We target the bluish color of the sky and select the visually closest color with the color picker. The picker automatically enters the selected color in the color-to-match field (in RGB format). Since the color of the sky changes from light blue to blue, we increase the fuzziness threshold to 10% to match all these color tones in the background gradient.

In this example, we demonstrate how to create a digital signature from a BMP image. To do it, you'll need to sign a blank sheet of paper, take a quick photo, and upload the image to the input field of this tool. To demonstrate it in action, we use Walt Disney's signature. We type 'white' in the transparent color option and set the fuzzy match to 15%. These values make sure that the white background of the signature gets removed along with the gray islands of shadows. The transparent bitmap now contains only the black outline of the ink, which can be inserted in electronic documents to sign them.
